Correct : “The total amount of the fine as determined by the court was € 500,000.
Explication : Il n’y en a pas ! Les anglo-saxons positionnent toujours le symbole monétaire à gauche du montant.
Faute commune No. 3 : “résumer” vs. “to resume”.
Pour exprimer en anglais : “je n’ai pas le temps de lire les 57 pages de ce contrat : peux-tu stp me le résumer en quelques paragraphes ?“
Incorrect : “I don’t have time to read all 57 pages of this contract : can you please resume it for me in a few paragraphs ?”
Correct : “I don’t have time to read all 57 pages of this contract : can you please summarise it for me in a few words ?”
Explication : reprendre = to resume , résumer = to summarise
